Speaking of Dahl
Yesterday, we met up with Ron for lunch. Here's a short conversation between me and Zurielle:Z: Mommy, where are we going to eat?
K: An Indian restaurant.
Z: They have icky chicken!
K: You don't have to eat the chicken.
Z: What me gonna eat?
K: You can eat the nan, the dahl...
Z: Dahl? I DON'T EAT "DAHLS," I EAT FOOD! Dolls are for playing.
At the restaurant, looking at the buffet meat trays:
Z: Mommy, those chicken died!
A: Shhhh!
And later on when I needed to get gas:
Z: Gas? Girls don't get gas! Boys do!

:o) KIDS! They say the best things, don't they? Refreshing.
I just spotted your note about animal documentaries/videos for adults AND kids, and I am going to see what I can find out when I get to work this afternoon, Kai. That's something I can find out there for sure.
Oh my! This is so funny, Kai. These are just like Catherine's LB situations, such similair ages. I really like all this new stuff below...
Hahaha!! That is priceless.
oh that is just too cute!
and what a great picture too. aww. this makes me smile
Teddy
K- thank you so much!
Oh how cute! The things kids say, eh? Aiyana always has me smiling. :-)
Your daughter just might be the cutest little girl I've ever seen..
I love the whole dolls are for playing.. hehe.. I remember being 4 and my dad brought home a dolly (to move things) and I was sooo upset that it wasn't a doll to play with..
Don't you just love the innocent questions of children? How old is your daughter. She is very cute.
Cindy, Zurielle is 3.
And thank you all!
Thanks for posting this Kai, what a totally adorable story.
Hi Kai!
I was going to leave you info about some documentaries but a couple of 'em were the same as what Vicki posted on my blog in response to your post, so I want to pass her note to you there on to you here!!
So, without further ado, heeeeeeere's Vicki:
"hi kai, i just saw your question. i have some good animal documentaries that are good for kids & adults:
national geographic has a bunch:
"america's endangered species: don't say good-bye" "the grizzlies" "crocodiles: here be dragons" "african wildlife"
video nature library also has some: "pandas of the sleeping dragon"
world of discovery: "wolf: return of a legend"
maybe your library has some of those titles?"
Priceless!
I love these conversations with our kids - we have no idea where they are taking us when the conversation begins, but it usually ends with a good laugh!
That's one to write down for a memory book. :)
too cute! & i agree w/Zurielle ~ girls don't get gas....boys do. where's your cake?! :o)
Very cute. Smart girl!
Hi Kai. Hope you are enjoying the summer heat. I am on a make indian food mission and am armed with two cookbooks, but I don't know what a couple of ingredients are. Perhaps you can help?
anaar ke dane
kale channe
Dori,
I thought I have a first time visitor, since you changed your photo!
Kale channe could be black chickpeas, but I'm not sure... I have no idea what the other one is, but I know someone who would. Try Lera at

Been on "break" this past week so I've had tons of time to play on the computer. Thanks for the referral on ingredients.
Too funny!
