This is how we Iron Chef!
The kids requested to make chocolate chip cookies when cousin Kareena came over to play. Well, I got too many volunteers to help, so we decided to do a baking contest between Kareena and Zurielle. Aliyah was okay to be the judge and do the clean-up with me. Lyrica was content to be the tester.I didn't have maple syrup at the time, but the "judge" assured me that agave nectar would do just fine. They look very serious, don't they?
Kareena opted for the dark cookie sheet...
And just to share from my FIL's garden:

Great contest! I love how A knew to sub agave for the maple syrup. Awesome!
Your girls are so beautiful. I love the cooking contest idea! Gotta love those chocolate chip cookies. Your garden photos are fantastic too!
Those cookies look so yummy, I would agree that they both won !
Your father in laws garden looks lovely. ITs such pretty time of the year right now.
Mmmm cookies. I think the girls did a great job. The cookies look really good.
My stepdad plants a garden every year. Nothing compares to food you've grown yourself.
Ahhh, lilies! One of my favorite flowers. What a gorgeous picture.
It's wonderful that your girls are enjoying cooking... that's a sure fire way to get them interested in good, healthy food.
I love to see your girls so hard at work. Look at that concentration! One's a right-hander and the other's a southpaw. And that means just one thing: No problems hitting arms at the dinner table!
Those cookies have me wanting to eat the computer screen. I'm such a softie for those, Kai. YUM!
I'm a fan of agave nectar... big time!
Gorgeous green "fruit" and a lovely lily.
Thanks for sharing the groovy growing beauties... (your girls AND the plants!)
The girls rock! I love cooking with someone else, chatting and enjoying the food. This must be fun with the girls and surely they are crafty!
mmmmmm, cookies!
I think I'll have to taste test those cookies just so I can be sure it was a tie. :)
Your lilies are looking good. My grandma had some red ones in her garden in upstate NY.

How sweet - cookies and the girls! What a great mom you are doing a baking contest with them! Iron Chef Jr's indeed!! :)
You're right - they are both winners; they are chocolate chip cookies after all :)
Isn't it amazing how fast a garden can grow at times? I just went over to my mom's and couldn't believe my eyes at her plants!
Have a great day !!
Crystal
they are the cutest iron chefs I've ever seen...and possibly the kindest!
Those are beautiful pictures! I'm amazed. :)
The cookie contest looks like great fun and the cookies look delicious. The garden also looks delicious. I am still waiting for my tomatoes to rippen. I have had green tomatoes for about a month, but would really like to have red tomatoes. Hopefully the will ripen soon. The flower is absolutely beautiful.
This is like Iron Chef...only cuter! :)
Great looking produce in FIL garden! Tiger lilies are so pretty. The food looks scrumptious too.
